    Dough

  • 300 ml water
  • 1 sachet (11 g) dried yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 400 g plain flour
  • 50 ml olive oil
  • Topping

  • ½–1 jar of green pesto sauce
  • 1 small courgette
  • 1–2 tsp dried thyme
  • 4 balls of mozzarella cheese
  • 4–8 kale leaves
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • a pinch of salt
  • a pinch of black pepper
  • dried oregano
  1. Time to get going!

    Wash your hands and read the recipe before you start.

  2. Making dough is fun

    Put lukewarm (37 to 42 degrees) water into a mixing bowl. Mix in the yeast and salt. Then whisk in the flour and oil. Work on the dough with one hand until elastic.

  3. Let it rest

    Cover the bowl with a kitchen cloth and let the dough rise for an hour.

  4. Roll it thin

    Heat up the oven to 225°C (fan oven). Sprinkle some water on the table, then spread 4 pieces of baking paper on the table. Sprinkle flour on the papers. Divide the dough into 4 and lift each piece on a paper. Throw some flour on the dough and roll it thin.

  5. Pesto & courgette

    Spread a thin layer of pesto sauce on the pizza base. Rinse the courgette and slice it with a cheese slicer. Divide these slices on the pizzas and sprinkle thyme on them.

  6. Then comes the mozzarella!

    Drain the mozzarella balls and rip one ball on each pizza.

  7. Prep the kale

    Rinse kale leaves and rip them into chunks in a bowl. Remove the stems. Add oil, salt and pepper, stir well. Keep the kale aside for a while.

  8. Bake in the oven

    Place the pizzas on baking papers and carefully lift them on the baking trays. You can put 2 pizzas in the oven at the same time. Bake for 7 minutes, then take the trays out of the oven and top the pizzas with kale. Bake for 3–5 more minutes until slightly brown at the edges.

  9. Time to enjoy!

    Cut hot pizza to slices and sprinkle oregano over the top. Quickly clean the kitchen… and enjoy!

Tell us about your fav recipe, this Green Monster Pizza? In Washington DC, my hometown of six and half years, one restaurant served Green Monster Pizza. Instead of tomato sauce, this pizza is all about green pesto, courgette and kale.

Which Carrot Kitchen’s videos do you cook on? I cook, for example, Pesto Pasta with my friend Ella. That delicious pesto tasted of avocado and guacamole.

Did you enjoy shooting these vids? Yes! During the first time, I was there with a friend of mine. I didn’t feel too nervous since I’d already been shooting commercials before this.

Do you prefer cooking by yourself or with a friend? With my family and my little bro. We play together every day. It’s nice to cook with him – he’s super funny.
