Amalia's Oatmeal Cookies are incredibly simple to make, and the ingredients are completely free! Once you've mastered this quick 'n easy recipe, you can add whatever you want to your cookies - chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or anything else you want!

Amalia’s Oatmeal Cookies

  • 100 g butter or margarine
  • 90 g oats
  • 35 g desiccated coconut
  • 65 g caster sugar
  • 2 tbsp plain flour
  • 1 egg
  1. Time to get going!

Wash your hands and cover the baking tray with baking paper. Heat up the oven to 200°C.

  2. Melt the butter

Measure the butter (or margarine) and put it in a small pot. Carefully melt the butter. Take the pot off the stove and turn off the heat. You can also melt the butter in the microwave.

  3. Swell the flakes

Put oats and desiccated coconut in the pot. Mix with a spoon and let them rest for about 5 minutes.

  4. Mix the dough

Add sugar, flour and egg. Beat until even.

  5. Bake in the oven

Divide the dough into 12 small pieces and place them on the baking tray. Bake cookies in the middle rack of the oven for 5 to 8 minutes until golden on the surface.

  6. Tip!

Season the cookies with raisins, dried cranberries or chopped chocolate - let your imagination fly!

Tell us about this fav recipe of yours, oatmeal cookies? These cookies are great as you can play with different ingredients and flavours. So far, I’ve tried desiccated coconut, cocoa powder and raisins. I really love coconut flakes because they give flavour but not too much.

Which Carrot Kitchen videos do you cook on? You can watch me baking meringues, for example. It was my first time making them, and I’m happy with the result. Really enjoyed the shootings: great fun, just the way I thought.

How did you end up cooking on these vids? On one Insta Live I heard that Carrot Kitchen was looking for new talents. I got inspired since I already knew the Carrot Kitchen app. Before becoming one of us Junior Chefs, I had already made some pastries and pastas using the app.

Who taught you to cook? My mum. I cook a lot and I love to bake.

Brekkie or evening snack? Brekkie. Yoghurt, berries and muesli, and sometimes bread.

Your favourite snack before training? Smoothie! My hobbies are dancing and figure skating.

What will you be when you grow up? A vet. I want to help dogs, rabbits and horses.
